Guest guest
Playtown Cafe is having a special guest for our Special Needs Night (Wednesday, September 5th 5:30pm - 7:30pm)! Izabela Piasecka has been teaching yoga to children for the last ten years. She conducted yoga therapy sessions for children with ADHD, Autism and those are Differently-Abled in both individual and group settings. For several years, at the yoga studio in NJ, she led a 6-weeks series of 1-hour yoga classes for boys and girls, ages 4-12, focused on body awareness, breathing exercises, five senses, yoga poses, brain gym, meditation and relaxation techniques. In her classes she has integrated structure, visual aid, misc and songs, games and yoga stories to encourage self-reliance and positive attitude. I also worked one-on-one with children within Autism Spectrum Disorder, focusing on improving their ability to process auditory information, perform the pose/task, increase their concentration, enhance their social skills. In addition, she introduced yoga for children at Special Needs Fairs and led yoga workshops in the US and Europe, titled "Enjoying the Benefits of Yoga with Your Children," for parents, caregivers, teachers and occupational therapists. She strongly believes that children of all abilities can practice yoga and find success. There is yoga therapy for every special child, and it is worth exploring to find out what it will be for a particular child. Maybe it is going to be the improvement of the breathing patterns, fun at yoga games, relaxation with guided imagery, building up self-esteem, feeling accepted and appreciated or simply bringing a lot of fun.Call for more details @ or email @ info@...
