Hello all,

Below are results from my 4 pt. cortisol saliva test:

HORMONE STATUS RESULT RANGE UNITS RANGE APPLIED

cort AM within rnge. 5.5 2.0-11 ng/ml within 1 hr awakng

" noon below rnge. 0.7 1.0-7.0 " noon cortisol

cort PM below rnge. 0.4 0.5-3.5 " approx 4.p.m.

cort HS low end rnge 0.2 0.2-1.3 " bedtime sample

My Dr. put me on cortisone acetate 10 mg. twice a day(10 MG at lunch

and 10 mg at dinner. i have been experiencing sypmtoms of too much

adreniline i.e. heart racing and palpitations and shortness of

breath,

dizziness and trembling,as well as tiredness 'wired but tired'

i see my dr next week and i'm not feeling any improvement on the

cortisol so far(about 1and 1/2 mo.s) Also I noticed that wired

feeling was worse at night, so i took the cortisol earlier in the day

(before 4p.m.) I am taking natural dessicated thyroid as my blood

work (tsh was high) but t3 and t4 conversion seems to be o.k. Any

thoughts would be appreciated as these symptoms are debilitating and

i have been putting off dmsa chelation until i get my hormones back

in check. Thanks so much Frances, in Toronto area.

Is it possible that the cortisol you are providing is making the thyroid

hormone more usable. You need cortisol to get your thyroid into you cells?

If that is the case you need to lower you desiccated thyroid a bit and see

how you are doing.

Racing heart can be thyroid related and not always adrenaline.

Also consider to lower the cortisone for a while. Did you start with the

slow build-up, or jump right in?
