Guest guest
Hello - I need some advice. I may be just stressing out (my husband thinks so) but what I am worried about is my son gets his band next wed. March 5th. Then on Friday (March 7) my 8 year old is in a play that I'd planned to go to; however, I am worried that with it being so soon after getting the band that maybe I should explain to her that I won't be able to make it. My concern is about if he will be adjusted to the band by that time and driving in the hot car (we are in Phx). Without the band if he gets upset in the car his little head is dripping with sweat. Then I remembered that Calvin's 6 month vaccinations are scheduled for that friday in the morning. Is it a bad idea to have the vaccinations so soon after getting the band? He always runs a fever after getting his vaccinations. I am going to try and reschedule the appt for Monday, but may have a difficult time doing so. So basically, I am worried about taking him out in the hot car to the play 2 days after getting the band, since I don't know how quickly he'll adjust and if getting vaccinations just 2 days after getting the band could be a problem? If I can't reschedule the vaccinations, I definitely won't go to the play since he'll likely be running a fever. Guest guest
Personally I found for the normalicy of my other kids (I have 5 total) I did everything just the same as I would have had Luli not had the band - I went to all the ball games, the beach, etc. I didn;t want them resenting her or her band. As far as shots - we didn;t vax while she was wearing a band for the exact reason of a fever - if there is a fever then you have to take the band off. SO, I guess my take is this - If you get the shot and there is a fever then the band comes off - would you still go to the play. If you don't vax, there is no fever - I say go - If your ds starts to fuss b/c pf the band take it off for the 30 min while you at the play. JMHO. :-) Jen and Luli - 26 months Left tort - Right Plagio - Hanger Band Grad - CA http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/j/jens5th/ activity & shots after getting band Hello - I need some advice. Guest guest
Thank you everyone for your emails. I was able to resch the vaccinations to 3/14. I'll take the band off if tylenol doesn't take the fever away. I'll talk with CT about it too. Also, we've decided to go to the play. I'll let everyone know how it goes. I really appreciate everyone's input.
