Guest guest
Okay, this may seem like a silly question and I do have Andy's book. I am just preparing to chelate but am taking sometime to help my adrenals before I do, My naturopath suggested (and I don't always agree) that I start on ALA since I did six months of Cilantro (before finding you folks) and done sauna and clay baths. She believes my cellular mercury burden is low. I don't agree and want to do at least 2 months of DSMA (can't do DMPS in Canada) then add ALA. I am afraid to just jump into ALA because of the comments made about not starting ALA right away. When I start chelation November - it will have been 4 months after my last amalgam removal. So my question is to help my organs dump - is it ALA or DMSA that hlep those. any thoughts would be welcome. Colette

Is it that you just finished amalgam removal this year, plan to start chelating this coming November, 4 mo after the last removal? > So my question is to help my organs dump - is it ALA or DMSA that >hlep > those. > If you are talking about the period of time after amalgam removal when Andy says the organs start to dump mercury, ALA and DMSA don't really help in the dumping, what they help in is to remove the dumped mercury from the body. I would start using low dose DMSA starting 4 days after amalgam removal as TK describes in his general recommendations in the files section so that you are comfortable with DMSA chelation and have found the appropriate dose to use before adding ALA. I am concerned that the use of cilantro would count as recent exposure to mercury because cilantro mobilizes mercury but doesn't necessarily help to remove it from the body. That is one reason why I would recommend starting with DMSA. DMPS is available in Canada it is just hard to find someone who will prescribe it. I am aware of someone in who got it somehow, and a pharmacy in Ontario that compounds it (for practitioners who use it inappropriately). Canada also allows people to carry it in from the US for their own use. J > any thoughts would be welcome. > Colette >

Is it that you just finished > amalgam removal this year, plan to start chelating this coming > November, 4 mo after the last removal? Yes, I finished amalgam removal in July of this year. I don't want to start DMSA right away since my adrenals are really struggling and I want to help them more before doing heavy chelation. I was going to do some adrenal support and then do DMPS in Nov. Is there a problem with waiting? > > I am concerned that the use of cilantro would count as recent exposure > to mercury because cilantro mobilizes mercury but doesn't necessarily > help to remove it from the body. So you think it just redistributed the mercury but did not do any removal????? > > DMPS is available in Canada it is just hard to find someone who will > prescribe it. I also live close to the US border. > Colette >
Guest guest
> > > > > , I have read that this can happen as Andy says that it doesn't happen all the time, but enough that it is worth talking about. I wondered also about why you think redistribution occured and not removal. There is literature that cilantro chelates mercury - although the mechanism is not understood - even andy speaks to this. Why did it not come out of the body?? And finally, your symptoms were very noticeable. What kinds of symptoms do people experience. I think I am starting to formulate a plan and will be prepared to start DMSA if the dumping starts. Your thoughts.
