Guest guest
Andy If someone doses ALA and DMSA every 2 h during the daytime and every 4 h at night, would they have to change the dose at night? Like suppose they are taking 25 mg doses of each q 2 h during the day, what doses would they take q 4 h at night? Or is this not recommended? Thanks
Guest guest
I've been doing a similar schedule with 2:40 intervals during the day, and 4 hours at night. I'm on 25 mg DMSA, and won't add ALA for a while. I'm in my 8th DMSA round, and transitioning toward a higher DMSA dosage. It's working fine for me with minimal problems (I feel better when chelating). The 4 hour interval was too long for my body and I got some redistribution systems about about 3.5 hours. So I wanted to go to a more frequent schedule that was " clock syncronized " , and would also be OK when I add ALA. I keep my dosage the same during the night. I use the timer referenced in the links section. I had the same question when I started on this schedule, and I reasoned that it's the slower metabolism during sleep that allows stretching the interval to 4 hours, so the dosage should remain the same. I'll be interested if others have had experiences that are similar or contrary. -= Alan > > > > Andy > > If someone doses ALA and DMSA every 2 h during the daytime and every 4 > h at night, would they have to change the dose at night? > > Like suppose they are taking 25 mg doses of each q 2 h during the day, > what doses would they take q 4 h at night? Guest guest
TK--- This is much more the one hour past dosage timing for both chelators at the timing change - this will cause a large fluctuation in blood concentration and redistribution. General guidelines call to stop the round if one is more than one hour late with a dose. To try and change the dosage back and forth to compensate between 2 & 4hr will be very hard if it can be done at all. I would [strongly] not recommend doing this and would recommend people sticking to the general protocol for safety so they do not screw something up and hurt themselves as it is very easy to do so with just the standard protocol and I hate to see people suffer when they get it wrong. The end choice is the individuals but this is not what we recommend doing unless Andy wants to come up with dosage equations for this purpose and ok's it. > > > > Andy > > If someone doses ALA and DMSA every 2 h during the daytime and every 4 > h at night, would they have to change the dose at night? > > Like suppose they are taking 25 mg doses of each q 2 h during the day, > what doses would they take q 4 h at night? Guest guest
TK--- just to clarify so people do not get confused - this is not a similar schedule at all. the one below calls for a 2hr difference in dosage timing----- 2hr day - 4hr night Your being over by 20 minutes at night might be fine for you but in general is not recommended or suggested. > > > > > > > > Andy > > > > If someone doses ALA and DMSA every 2 h during the daytime and every 4 > > h at night, would they have to change the dose at night? > > > > Like suppose they are taking 25 mg doses of each q 2 h during the day, > > what doses would they take q 4 h at night? Guest guest
Thanks for the feedback. I see your point about them not being similar. The problem I had with switching between 3 hrs during the day and 4 hours at night is that it does not fit into a 24 hour clock. If you use two 4 hours intervals at night, that leaves 16 hrs during the day. It can either be 3:12, or 2:40 if you want to dose & sleep at the same time every day. Since 3:12 is over the limit for ALA, I went with 2:40. Any comments? Would 3:12 be OK after ALA is added, or does it depend in individual metabolism, etc.? -= Alan > > > > > > > > > > > > Andy > > > > > > If someone doses ALA and DMSA every 2 h during the daytime and > every 4 > > > h at night, would they have to change the dose at night? > > > > > > Like suppose they are taking 25 mg doses of each q 2 h during the > day, > > > what doses would they take q 4 h at night? Guest guest
Thanks TK. Sorry about the awkward way I worded the question. It came from people in other groups asking about dosing at 2 h intervals in the daytime and I didn't know what those people would do at night. Guest guest
TK--- they would need to stay at 2hr or could possibly go to 3hr for the two night doses. > > > > > > > > > > > > Andy > > > > > > If someone doses ALA and DMSA every 2 h during the daytime and every 4 > > > h at night, would they have to change the dose at night? > > > > > > Like suppose they are taking 25 mg doses of each q 2 h during the day, > > > what doses would they take q 4 h at night?
