Guest guest
Air hunger is when you don;t breathe deep enough hypo causes it. ANY exertion even walking across a room can leace you out of breath. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
What is air hunger? This is just a guess based on my own experience of what I *think* was 'air hunger' - yes a feeling like you can't breath.. Except that you can. More like you just sort of gulp down air, as if it were a good - at least that was my impression. Shoman mentions this in her book IIRC. No idea what causes it - perhaps the mitochondria want more oxygen to use, when what they really need is more T3 to speed them up (turn them on at all?) Guest guest
It was the hypo symptom that wouldn't go away, and that I didn't know was a hypo symptom, that finally drove me to see the doctor 5 years. I saw many specialists and had many expensive and intrusive tests done and no one ever put it together. Had no idea until I found these groups. Mine comes and goes now and is only really noticeable when I am feeling particularly hypo. > > Yes it can come & go depending on how hypo you are at the moment. I do > not think there si anything you can sdo exceot increase thyroi dto get > rid of it.

Guest guest
It's not dangerous, it just feels like you can't get enough air so you keep trying to take deeper breaths. At least that is what happens for me. It happens to me just sitting around. I never really paid attention to it until I read " air hunger " under a symptom list. Of course there were several symptoms that I have that I never realized WERE symptoms. To make it stop you need to get on an optimal dose of whatever it is you need. :-) Rie A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Guest guest
I had it for most of six months and it was scary at first and then, after countless cardio and pulmonary function tests and others all came back normal, it just became frustrating and annoying that no one knew what was causing it or how to treat it. They did discover that I had Hashis and that I was hypo at that time (5 years ago) but no one ever put the two together. Get on enough thyroid hormone and I'm betting it will resolve. I'm not on nearly enough Armour myself yet, and most of my symptoms are just as bad or worse, but the air hunger rarely occurs anymore - only when I am really, really hypo, like if I miss a dose. > > It's not dangerous, it just feels like you can't get enough air so you keep > trying to take deeper breaths.
