Guest guest
If you are off all thyroid meds, you own thyroid may still be making T4, which can be converted into RT3. So even off of thyroid meds, one can still have a problem with RT3 (it is usually WORSE when on T4-containing meds). What most do here is go on T3-only, which suppresses the thyroid's own production of T4, leaving no raw material for RT3 to be made from. There is lots of good RT3 info on Nick's website, don't miss it! http://www.thyroid- rt3.com/ > > > > My friend who is currently trying to clear a BAD case of rT3 is up to 150 mcgs of Cytomel and his body temperature is not increasing, nor is he feeling any better.....He' s only in week 7. > > The question I am posting for him is this: > > Should he continue to RAISE T3 and if so, to how high?, OR > > will his rT3 clear regardless, even if he stays on 150 mcgs for the next 5 or 6 weeks until his body has enough time to dump the rT3? > > > > > > He was on 0.125 Synthroid before finally deciding to take charge himself to regain his health and wellbeing since the docs weren't helping him. > > > > Thanks in advance for input/experience/ suggestions. > > Karin > > >
