If you are off all thyroid meds, you own thyroid may still be making T4, which

can be converted into RT3. So even off of thyroid meds, one can still have a

problem with RT3 (it is usually WORSE when on T4-containing meds). What most do

here is go on T3-only, which suppresses the thyroid's own production of T4,

leaving no raw material for RT3 to be made from.
