This Friday,

we have an opportunity to get direct answers about MR v Dreyfus, Olmstead,

Medicaid and Medicaid reform… but only if the party representatives talk

about it!Take ACTION NOW! http://ly.adapt.org/nfdiGovernor Gregoire (D-WA) is considering whether she will appeal MR v Dreyfus

to the Supreme Court, potentially undercutting the Olmstead decision and

the freedom of Americans with disabilities who rely on Medicaid-funded

long term services and supports. Although Governor Gregoire is a

Democrat, the Attorney General in Washington is a Republican who is running

to be the next Governor. That gives BOTH parties a clear opportunity

to impact this process.Regardless of who wins the Presidency or controls Congress, there is one

thing that we know: Medicaid reform will be on the agenda. Providing

state flexibility and capping federal funding through block granting are

the basis for many of these Medicaid "reforms".The situation in Washington highlights how Medicaid cuts directly impact

the civil rights – and freedom – of Americans with disabilities. In

the coming years, Olmstead protections and enforcement will be more important

than ever.Ted Kennedy Jr. (D) and Rep. Cathy Mc Rodgers (R-WA) are speaking

on behalf of their respective parties at the National Forum on Disability

Issues to present their campaign’s positions on matters relating to Americans

with disabilities. Tell them they need to talk about these critical

issues at the National Forum on Disability Issues on Friday!TAKE ACTION NOW and tell them that they need to talk about these critical

issues at the National Forum on Disability Issues on Friday.http://ly.adapt.org/nfdi
