Guest guest
How do you accurately empty out a 25 mg ALA capsule, for example, and make two 12.5 mg ones? I've seen this suggestion, but can't see how you could to it well.

(I usually top it up with ascorbic acid powder). Or, divide the powder evenly on a glass plate or a piece of parchment paper, by eye, and add the powder to each capsule with a sharp knife. This is what I do. It works pretty well with a razor blade. I put half of the stuff back into the original capsule and half into a new capsule. I think Andy says somewhere that even timing of doses is more important than being 100% accurate with the amount in each capsule. I to judge as best I can by eye and then hope for the best. So far, I haven't felt any ill effects from my splitting techniques. ----Katharine
Guest guest
I can be done, I've been dividing the 25mg into 1/3's using 2 additional empty capsules of the same size and you get used to how high up on the capsule 1/3 is and compare all three and correct for any differences. It can be done fairly quickly. Now I have upped it to 1/2 capsule so I now have to get used to the 1/2 capsule height on the capsule. >>> " " lindajaytee@...> 8/27/2007 12:13 PM >>> > > How do you accurately empty out a 25 mg ALA capsule, for example, and > make two 12.5 mg ones?
