I agree. Why aren't parents demanding it nationwide?

Yes, disturbing.

A friend in Canada, told me that every 2 years the teachers at the private

school where she teaches, are required to go to a one day training session where

they meet with a therapist and go to " relaxation therapy " to deal with the

stress of teaching kids with disabilities. She says it seems to help, as this is

an extremely stressful job. They talk about what situations bother them,

possible solutions, team teaching, etc. They learn tactics for relieving stress

and leaving the problems at the school so their time at home is not filled with

tension.

If you think about how much stress we as parents sometimes feel, (and we love

our kids...) think about the stress the teachers feel. It is NO excuse for the

abuse, and if a teacher is feeling upset or over stressed they should remove

themselves from the situation, but it would be nice if there was a similar

requirement of the teachers in FL. Maybe it would cut down on some of the abuse

in the classrooms.

That would be nice but unfortunately teachers work long hours, weekends and minimal pay. Is sad what is going on with how government is cutting salaries and benefits to teachers who truly work hard and dedicate their careers to their children. Is very sad. Sent from my iPhone
