Extremely tired and foggy, yet I don't sleep well. I do have extremely heavy periods - according to the research I've done online, it's technically hemorraghing at times. Haven't gone to the ER, but all the docs so far (even the good ones) haven't picked up on the anemia. I don't tolerate oral iron supps at all. I have tried every single type out there. The one you are on is a chelated iron, supposedly one of the most gentle, but it gave me a migraine that put me in bed for three days. It was gentle on my stomach, though. =-) Because of my reactions to the supps, I suspect I am absorbing somewhat, but then my body isn't doing what it needs to with the iron. I also can't get enough into circulation due to the side effects. I expect I'll at least get a headache from the infusions, but I'll be prepared with some ibuprofen and sleep meds. I have a couple of questions: You mentioned your level went up fairly quickly - were you scheduled for the five infusions over two weeks or the more intense two infusions? Also, were you taking B vitamins at the time?
