Guest guest
Hi, I have been tracking my basal temps for months to help me with my HRT dosing. What I have found is that when I have progesterone in my system my basal temp is several tenths higher than when I do not have progesterone in my system. I know that progesterone spikes after ovulation and I believe that my basal temps go up as the progesterone spikes—more progesterone means a higher basal temp for me. My basal temp stays up for 9 to 14 days if I ovulate. I have not tracked my average daily temp much at all so I cannot say how progesterone affects those readings. Here is a link to a web site and a quote that talks about Basal Body Temperature (BBT) (scroll half way down on the page): http://www.birth-control-comparison.info/fam.htm >>>Immediately before ovulation, the temperature drops briefly. Within 12 hours of ovulation the BBT rises several tenths of a degree and remains up until the next menstrual period. When your temperature stays high for 3 days in a row, the fertile period is over and the safe infertile time begins. The DQAY TO DAY averages shoudl still nto fluctuate THAT much except on ovulation or periods starting a these are major hormone changing days. But i never had a normal period in my life, but I have certainly seen menstruating women that were able to use temps to judge hypo and adrenal status. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >
