Guest guest
A serum magnesium test if very unreliable though claiming lots of people to be fine when in fact they are very deficient in magnesium. You learn this from all the good docs like Dr. Sherry . Re: magnesium deficiency I found out through blood test. My doc said mine was EXTREMELY LOW. he said that selenium and zinc arent accurate through blood, never said mag wasn't. It was a simple blood serum test. Now, Im ordered to try milk of mag every night to raise it. I've never had any prominent symtpoms except an eye twitching once in a while(which could be hypo adrenal or thyroid too), and some shakiness inside. My limbs have never really twitched, like they say would happen with low mag. I read somewhere too, that hypothyroidism causes you to be low in ALL of your minerals. > > > > MOST people with hypothyoridism are low in magnesium. to correct that > > oyu need ot take JUST magnesium. Guest guest
I am using the Ancient Minerals http://www.magneticclaybaths.com/anmimaoil64.html Slow mag is a viable alternative as well. And if you take L-Taurine with it, that helps magnesium absorption . I have no reference for this, just my magnesium level that was in the basement until I added L-Taurine 1000mg with my evening dose of Slow Mag. Within a week, my mag level came into the normal range and has stayed there. in OH >>>So what are other options for supplementing magnesium if it causes problems? Guest guest
I haven't had mine tested but I'm sure I'm deficent in that as well. I don't know how I'm going to supplement for it though. I had a sample of the Natural Calm and tried half of the packet and was up half the night going to the bathroom. This could have been a coincicdence, so I'm going to try the other half of the packet at some point. I just have to make sure I'll be at home for the day and uninteruppted just in case. :-) So what are other options for supplementing magnesium if it causes problems? Guest guest
Since magnesium citrate IS a laxative and sold as such as well as being sold as a mag supplement it might not be a coincidence. sol Cherie wrote: > know how I'm going to supplement for it though.
