Guest guest
part of the trears - aside from internal demons - comes from the various chemo drugs and premeds - what are you taking? dexamethasone (a seriod given as a premed prior to taxotere or taxol) can be a HUGE culprit in mood swings, depression, etc...and can cause steroid induced psychosis... other meds to have qualities that can exacerbate depression... marisa --- kplattus wrote: > I cant seem to get through a dam conversation > without my tears > flowing. Guest guest
Kassy, I know how you feel. I do the same thing. I even try to explain something to my doctor and want to break down and cry. I think it is just we have so much to deal with that we can't help it. Take it easy and don't be so hard on yourself.. be strong and positive. Guest guest
Dear Kassy, Listen, if ANYONE deserves to cry themselves a river, it's us, girl! Instead of emotional overload, you are " unloading " your feelings via your tears. Nothing wrong with it, and good for your soul. Tomorrow is another day, you hear??? You'll pick yourself up (if you want to) and realize this is about KASSY, and if you want to have the same type of reaction tomorrow, then let it flow. You need to get it all out and not pent up inside you. Do I see that beautiful smile coming through??? I thought so... XOXO

Guest guest
Kassy, I know, I was a water works too. I still cry everyday and I finished my last chemo in November and had my my main reconstruction surgery in January. So I should be good by now right? It's going to be with us for life but for right now your body is so confused and your brain is on overload, women cry. Men aren't as lucky to feel so free. I used to cry walking down the street or in the store and I didn't care who saw. I hardly covered my head except with scarves. I just went bald most of the time. A bald 30 something girl walking around crying gained some attention, but who cares Kassy, people know we are going through something hard that most of them can't comprehend. I don't know if drugs are the answer. Anti depressents have their own side effects. If taken over long periods of time they change your personality. Anything synthetic is something to be wary about. Depression is normal for people like us but it doesn't have to last forever. You will get through this and you know what? It will make your good days amazing in comparison, it's those little things that keep us going, so look for them. Sometimes people gave me flowers in the supermarket, strangers wanting to be nice. It was those people who put a smile on my tired little face and made me want to " cheer up " . You are not responsible for how others feel in your presence give yourself a break. Saying that, I still remember how I felt like I wanted to hide sometimes so as not to bother anyone and then other times I was almost defensive. People used to stare at me all the time. Sometimes it was really rude, the way they would look. I categorized all of the different types of " lookies " I wrote a list with descriptions. It was funny and so true. We are aliens from another planet right now but we are all connected by this website and every organization for people with the same situation. I know how lonely it is even when surrounded by people. It's okay, we all get you because we are either there are have been there. Cry if it makes you feel better and watch lots of funny DVD's to cheer you up after you've had that cry. Bye for now, a ruthiema36 wrote: Aww, Kassy, such is the nature of the beast. Vent all you want. It is hard to be strong all the time. I have more than my share of those demon days. Appropriate as Halloween is coming, I suppose. Know you are not alone. I have tried to cut back on the antidepressents and am back up to once a day. It is funny, all my friends who have BC are on antidepressents. Do let your doctors know how you are feeling and you might want to consider seeing a therapist who is familiar with cancer issues. Big HUGS and lots of good wishes coming your way. Ruth > > I cant seem to get through a dam conversation without my tears > flowing. I try but they just flow. I was emotionally wrecked when I found out mine and I had withdrawal of everything. very deppressing but when I keep praying and reading the bible, thank GOd it made me all the way thru until this time . I'm done with my chemo, surgery and back to chemo again , now I am on herceptin, some kind of infusion. Please always remember that you will get thru this and that's why this group is created so that we can help each other thru our experiences. This is not the end of ur life. Hugs and blessings! Guest guest
I hear you!!!!! I went to a follow up surgical appointment, this month. and made the mistake of wearing a pink top. The PA said, " Oh, you're wearing pink for breast cancer month. " I told her no I was wearing pink because it is a good color on me! Jeese, here it is my birthday month and every where I go I am assaulted by pink this and pink that. A radio station was doing a promotion and bantering about the giant pink bra that was a part of it, how big around it was and that it would take beach balls to fill the cups. Having recently had a mastectomy, I was highly offended. Campells soup, Tic Tacs, and all the other companies that have climbed on the " Pink " band wagon are in the " pink " because of us. They are making a foutune on our MISfortune. How much of their profits, in comparison to what they are making, goes to BC research? Ruth > > > > Don't feel bad, we all do it. Guest guest
Hi, Ruth - Exactly what I was thinking - everyone's doing pink stuff then thinking they've done their bit. 8-( That made me get my BC t-shirt printed, with the big pink ribbon on the front and the words " Breast Cancer - been there, done that, got the t-shirt .... " I've put the picture in my photos album - Margery's pictures. I paid a friend to make it, and also donated the same amount to Cancer Research UK. http://health.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/breastcancer2/photos/view/208d?b=1 & o =2 It's my own design, so if you want to do the same thing, feel free. Guest guest
I see it a bit differently. If one person has a mammogram or does a self breast exam because of the attention paid this month to breast cancer it is worth it. If one extra penny goes to research so my daughter won't have to go thru what I am going thru I don't begrudge the merchants $100 of profit. The more attention the better, the more press the better. Maybe one more person will have a mammogram and find her cancer so early she only needs a surgery instead of chemo and radiation. > > > > > > Don't feel bad, we all do it. Guest guest
Talk about endless tears!!! I had my mastectomy 2 days ago. Before and after since, being October, all I see is Breast Cancer pink things. I break out in tears, or it's right under the surface every minute! Juli > > > > Don't feel bad, we all do it.
