Guest guest
Did your labs show high estrogen? That is the most common reason men are prescribe progest. Cheri -----Original Message----- What is low progesterone for a man? My last labs came back with progesterone at .5 normal being anything under 1.4 as Quest labs measures. My doc in MI said last I saw him he might try me on some progesterone to help take the hard edges off of the HC and to help me sleep but I asked to test first. He won't do anything over the phone so I have to wait until I see him again in a month. Meanwhile, the doc I saw in GA thought that chromium would help me sleep because it would help level out my blood sugar overnight. That didn't seem to work either and I cut it out after a few days b/c I think that it might have been contributing to increased GI problems over the past several days. Has anyone else heard of progesterone being prescribed for men in the manner that my MI doc suggested? Thanks, .
Guest guest
I finally figured out that was probably why they say to avoid it on the tests. I thought it had to do with adrenals for the cortisol test not the progesterone. I would say avoid it not only the day of testing but the day before too. There are other foods that elevate it but I am still investigating that. Will post more when I find out more. I think on one of my tests I DID actually have a little chocolate without thinking. I also had garlic because it was in a cooked meal I had and the labs say to avoid garlic. Cheri -----Original Message----- So how many days prior to testing do we need to avoid chocolate? Or is that only to be avoided on the test day, which is waht the instrucitons to my saliva tests said. LOL. sol .
Guest guest
Chromium made me wake up at 3 am with stomach growling so I don't take it before bedtime.
