Guest guest
I think it depends on the person. In my case, I have too little acid so use apple cider vinegar. I believe the baking soda is only for those with too much acid. Symptoms are the same. Cheri -----Original Message----- Thank you everybody, I have another question for you Does hypothyroidism cause too much or too little acid in the stomach? Thank you . Guest guest
I don't do it every day, just when I have issues or will eat something that will create issues. Usually either one teaspoon or one tablespoon. I also use HCL sometimes before a meal. Do you know if high or low acid is your issue? I thought I was low acid then I got some test strips a few years ago and it showed I was very alkaline (I eat kombu which makes you more alkaline as do regular veggies). That surprised me so I experimented and researched and found out I was low acid. One symptom of low acid is trouble digesting things like meats. One of the adrenal authors said that but I don't remember which one. Maybe Dr. Lam. However, I also have Candida which is supposed to be high acidic so I think gut and overall body acidity vs. alkaline can be different. Seems I might have high acidity in some organs but low in the gut. Of course, that is all theory on my part. Guest guest
I meant I thought I was HIGH acid in my comment below, lol, before I got the strips that showed low. I take it directly, not mixed in water. I take everything directly if I can. Just gulp it and get it over with. Mixing stuff with water gags me more often than not. Licorice is good for digestive issues as is betaine HCL. Also, probiotics depending on the cause of your digestive issues. Cheri Re: Re: Baking soda for heartburn and candida ? Guest guest
It could be hypoglycemia btu ia suspect it may just be excess stomach acid from the HC. You can either try the baking soda a little with each dose, otr oyu could get a glucose meter to determine if yoiu have hypoglycemia. Many pharmacies have them free if oyu ask. Or you can usually find one on Ebay for under$10 -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
i am thinking you may need to use dgl licorice before meals to comfort damaged stomach lining. bw Nil > Hi and everybody The supermarket ran out of baking soda yesterday but I will buy it today. Anyway the more I read about heartburn the more confused I get about my diagnosis. All I know is that I have pain in the entrance of the stomach and that I feel terribly hungry the whole day even after eating something that used to fill me before. Guest guest
Does it always hurt when you swallow? I have a problem with this periodically. The pain can get pretty intense. For me it feels like I've taken too big of a swallow of a drink and it is stretching my esophagus. It turned out the pain was caused from ulcers in my esophagus. I also do not have a problem with heartburn or reflux. Cherie Experience: that most brutal of teachers. Guest guest
Any time oyu feel dizzy but before you get shaky! Fasting is a good time first thing in the AM, or any time in the daytime after at least 5 hours since eating or reinking anything except water as that would be fasting as well. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
>> Val, I don't take HC, Is it possible that I have excess stomach acid anyway? If it was hypoglycaemia, wouldn't it go away when I eat?<< Yes it should but cna take up to 40 minutes for digestion to raise your glucose enough to releive symptoms. Depends on what oyu eat. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
, I finally decided my dizzy spells were from low cortisol. The last one I had (besides today) was the day after my mom had a REALLY hard day and I didn't think to stress dose. Today I'm not right at all because I'm just using the cream. It definately doesn't work as well for me. I've felt awful all day long and started feeling dizzy again this afternoon. I don't know if your dizziness would be related or not though.
