Guest guest
Yes, it's Klonopin or the generic is Clonazepam. Here's a Wiki on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clonazepam . It is a benzodiazepene which puts it in the same class of drugs as Xanax and Valium. It is the longest acting of the three and has, I think, that longest half-life. It is usually prescribed to treat anxiety. I take the smallest prescription dose, .5mg or half of that, before I go to bed and it helps me fall asleep. Benzos in general are addictive and you can't just quit taking them, you have to wean off. They also tend to become less effective the longer you take them which leads to higher doses although I have mostly avoided that by refusing to take more of it despite urging from my docs to do so. I would like to wean off of it eventually but, with sleep being such a problem for me since beginning with adrenal treatment, and anxiety over work, now is not the time. I'm not saying that you shouldn't take it, just know what it is. Does anyone have any experience taking clonopin? I went back for the 2nd > > sleep study with the cpap machine (came home with one). Guest guest
I have taken a small dose of klonopin as needed for years for anxiety. I do fine on it and I've never had any trouble coming off it when I choose to. HOWEVER, RLS is just a symptom of a nutrient deficiency. When you go to an alternative MD and describe this they always know it's either an iron, magnesium or folic acid deficiency. If you know your iron is fine, then start supplementing with a good magnesium product like " Natural Calm " or just magnesium citrate capsules and take at least 4 mgs. (not mcgs) but mgs. of folic acid per day. This should alleviate the problem. clonopin Does anyone have any experience taking clonopin? I went back for the 2nd sleep study with the cpap machine (came home with one). My doctor was out so I spoke with one of his partners (he seems like a nice guy as well). Anyway, my legs were doing their RLS thing later in the night and he wanted me to try Clonopin for it. I'm hesitante to add anything like that, but thought I'd see if anyone else had experience with it here. I do take Vit. E for my RLS and it helps it tremendously.
