Good Grief!!! What is a parent liason??? To: sList Sent: Thursday, October 4, 2012 6:02 AM Subject:

Parent liason PAL

Are parent lisasons working for the school district. They want to represent us but is it better to go private when using an advocate?

Trust me when I say...don't use a liaison from the district!!! Get your own private person...come to the broward ESE advisory if you're in broward. If not, still get a private person. The district does not help you...they try to keep you on a short leash going on a fast track to no where. That's just my opinion.

A parent liasison is someone employed by the district to work on parents behalf assisting them with problems or issues with ESE.

There is no such thing as a district employee working as an Advocate for a

parent in issues with a school or District for that matter. That would be

equivalent to jumping into a lion's den in order to get a first hand

understanding of lions.

In other words, don't do it.
