We did not participate because it was for 12 years and younger. However, I have been keeping in touch with the researchers. So far all looks very promising.

my 12 yr old son started around labor day -- it took several weeks to get to his

regular dosage. He hasn't had any side effects. His behavior hasn't changed

dramatically - there's a few things that he's doing (like chewing on his

forearms and giggling alot at night before bed). I can't say its because of the

memantine because he also started school in august only 2 weeks earlier than he

started the trial and there's probably other external events i'm not taking into

account also. His pediatrician says it takes several months to know if it's

going to work. we're in it for the 52 weeks - the staff in oakland park is

great! good luck if you give it a try.
