Hi Miss Mancy!I would suggest and definitely for the spectrum, find a CD with Ocean/dolphin/whales sounds. That will do a great job with your kiddo! And I am sure you will find more sharings here, but that one I use a lot iwth my son and he is 12 now and he just focuses and calms down easier and faster when I play it.Kind regards,Fabiola Fabiola Ana Torrez, AWE CP II's MomParent Coach, Pathfounder & Awesomism AmbassadorUCP Advocacy Coordinator & Autism Society of Broward, Board Vice President Cell FB: https://www.facebook.com/fabiola.ana ******************CONFIDENTIALITY**********************The information contained in this email and any attachments is legally privileged and confidential information intended only for the use of the individual or entity named above. There are also some CD's which I purchased from an OT here on s list called Sleepinsync. It is hypnotic by design and is very calming.

I find that music is very personal to individuals. I know of teens who find "rock music" to be calming. Other prefer folk or blues. Many youngsters enjoy light classical. Demonstrating some "samples" and asking children what they like works often. Sometimes, just playing music and observing is a good indicator as well. Many youth like music with a distinct rhythmic beat (Olatunji). Many enjoy music that is lyrical and repetitive with no "booming" highs and lows I do think it's important that the music be age appropriate, however. For younger kids try Raffi's "Rise and Shine", Guthrie's "Songs to grow on", and Baby Einstein.

Hi, ,I use " Music for Dreaming " to teach yoga to kids on the spectrum and many of them find it extremely calming during deep relaxation. It's soothing piano music by my husband.http://relaxationnow.net/musicfordreaming.html

Another yoga therapist that I know recommends Tibetal bells music. Here are her favorites:

" Touch of Silence " by Klaus Wiese

" Liquid Bells " by Damien Rose

" Seven Metals; Singing Bowls of Tibet " by

Iobst

I hope these help-Louise
