Guest guest
Do you have Play Pal in your school? No…..TALK TO YOUR SCHOOL`S ADMINISTRATION (Principals) ! What is Play Pal ? Play Pal is a Reverse Inclusion model program that was implemented 10 years ago at Coral Park Elementary in Broward County. The program started small and grew into a group of 80 students (Play Pals) going in to our children's daily school life and interact in their natural environment. Look at the " Play Pal " video Our Superintendent and the School Board does support and did acknowledged how " Play Pal " would be beneficial for our District and culture. The benefits for our Exceptional Students are gain in social skills, communication skills, play skills, cognitive skills, self-esteem, acceptance and a sense of being a part of a group. The benefits for the General Education population is learning about acceptance, patience, kindness, incorporates the kids of character program, different abilities that surround them, responsibility, leadership, good role model, a chance to decide if education is a career and volunteering in the community (some are Special Olympic volunteers now). One of the major benefits is also reduced a lot bullying issues in the school which we know is a big problem in our District. The " name " is not what we are promoting. The consistency of the program is our priority. PLEASE COME AND SUPPORT THE ESE STUDENT on NOVEMBER 7th, 2012 at the School Board meeting at the KCW Building where 3 motions will be presented to benefit our students. Address and map: http://www.browardschools.com/about/wright_map.htm - Also the changes about the Closing Out the goals without parent's participation before the new IEP meeting. Come and talk about what you think of the new changes. HOW YOU CAN HELP US ? 1. Show up at the meeting on November 7th, 2012 at 10:00 AM and wear a BLUE shirt. 2. Call this number and ask to be added to the list of public speakers. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT !! PLEASE WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT Thank you everyone for your involvement!
