I guess I feel like the Lone Ranger, because noone else talks about the air

hunger symptom, and that is driving me nuts. It starts first in the a.m., and

gets a little better when I take my HC, then worse as the dose wears off.....it

seems to get better at night after I eat dinner. Last night, I loaded up on my

Bluebonnet Iron and took 4 27 mg caps. I really seemed to get a boost last

night and was talking and enjoying my husband more than I have in a while. Was

hoping I'd wake up and it would be better, too, but guess it wore off. Will

getting on the Cytomel and clearing the reverse finally give me some headway on

this?

Thanks, much, Val! I really need that encouragement because I feel like I'm spinning my wheels here waiting to start treatment. Maybe the mail will bring a nice birthday surprise today....one can only hope. I'm going to stop reading the internet besides this forum because you read about people with s.o.b. for years, and they have no idea why! I can't imagine living indefinitely like this! (Most of them have NOT modified their lifestyles or diets or anything, either). Hubby is playing golf with a pharmacist friend today, and they called to wish me happy birthday....I told him to send me some Cytomel and it would be a done deal! Ha! S.O.B. stinks! And Val, you are an angel! If there is someone who is dealing with the s.o.b. issue, I'd love to email with you! It helps!

Yes once your iron levels get up to a good level and the T3 can get to the cells unimpeded, you wil feel 100% better.-- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/http://faqhelp.webs.com/http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Maybe it is a low cortisol issue? How frequently are you taking your HC? I take mine every 2 hours. I think I also felt very short of breath/shallow breathing before starting the HC <can't remember now, everything is all mashed together!>. It makes me wonder if that is the cause though since you feel better at night. I would feel better from all day low cortisol after say 6pm since that is when your cortisol would be going down anyway.

That's an interesting theory, Kitty! I don't know. Janie from STTM and Val both said to get the proper amount of T3 in me and I would feel so much better, and that SOB is a symptom of low thyroid. I guess it all goes hand in hand. I'm sure the HC gives me an energy boost. I know I'm getting enough air because my oxygen sats are always high. Maybe it's just that "cellular" tiredness that you get with being hypo? Dr. Lowe has a great article on it re: thyroids, and Dr. Lam says when your adrenals are in bad shape they downregulate every system in your body. I'm at a loss, as which came first, chicken or the egg? Thyroid or adrenals? My temps have been stable for at least 10 days....averaging 98.0. I think I have probably been hypothyroid all my life due to pneumonia twice as a child, and repeated

rounds of antibiotics for that.....low energy all through my teens, infertility, lots of stress....maybe I was born hypo? I know I have Hashis, or so my doctor said in May. Years ago I took 1/4 gr of Armour.....it really made me feel better....even the 1/4 gr! That was from my late 20's to 40! Then my old doc retired, and I knew someone would try to put me on Synthroid, so I weaned off the little 1/4 gr. Even on that low dosage, it took me two or three months to get energy back! So I've been off of it for 10 years. Then after lots of stress, new ND put me on Naturethroid, and I started reversing. Wish I had a definite handle on it all, but really feel it's a thyroid issue. I'm just so tired and emotional right now! Back in Nov. when I did saliva cortisol, my cortisol was slightly high in the a.m.'s, and sort of bottomed out at night. She only did a total cortisol in May before starting

hc, and I was in the higher end of the range.

I know low cortisol keeps you from using thyroid hormones so it likely goes hand in hand. My T3 was very low and RT3 mid range, so my ration was 15. I felt very hypo even with a suppressed TSH. I think I have been hypo/low cortisol since childhood as well. So many symptoms that got over looked.... now we get to play catchup....

Pretty bad from what I have heard. Hopefully you will get the T3 early next week and can start. Sadly you have to start slow or you will crash your adrenals :( But you should start to feel better soon!

Hopefully since I was already on such a low dose of Naturethroid...1/4 - 1/2 gr, it won't take long for me to get to that .30 mg mark and pass it up! My adrenals feel pretty stable. Temps are stable, and I have no shakiness and haven't felt nervous in a while! Just feel yuckily hypo. Fatigue, depression, foggy brain, shortness of breath. Feels like every cell in my body is tired! Darn, since the thyroid affects every cell in your body, I guess they are, huh?

I guess I feel like the Lone Ranger, because noone else talks about the air hunger symptom, and that is driving me nuts. It starts first in the a.m., and gets a little better when I take my HC, then worse as the dose wears off.....it seems to get better at night after I eat dinner. Last night, I loaded up on my Bluebonnet Iron and took 4 27 mg caps. I really seemed to get a boost last night and was talking and enjoying my husband more than I have in a while. Was hoping I'd wake up and it would be better, too, but guess it wore off. Will getting on the Cytomel and clearing the reverse finally give me some headway on this?

No, you're not the Lone Ranger on this one! I've had it before; it's very

distressing. For me, it seemed combination of both low t3 and low HC. DEFINITELY

I had it bad when my t3 was too low BUT I also remember getting it once when I

was weaning down on HC (down to too low a dose per my stupid doc). Maybe the too

low HC wasn't allowing the t3 into the cells?? Not sure.

It DID go away once I upped the t3. In fact, it's one of those symptoms I just

sort of forgot about.

I got it at night, too, which was sort of scary.

Thanks so much for sharing that, Kathleen! I need to hear that it goes away. I want my life back! I want to do fun things with my g'babies....dang, my daughter made me a young g'ma, and I should at least have the energy to have fun with them, huh? I have to think that it must be a combo of the adrenals and thyroid, too. But mine has been with me for 9 weeks now, so I probably won't ever forget about it. It's dibilitating! Just took my first dose of t3, and I'm praying it into my body! ;) I will repeat after you and Val and others: It does go away!

Believe me, it goes away. The worst I had it was last Fall when a doctor put me

on Iodoral (and no thyroid meds.) It was REALLY bad then, likely as I went even

more hypo from the iodine. Couldn't breathe just going up our stairs (and we

live in high altitude which doesn't help.) And then, as I got t3 and slowly

raised it, it just disappeared. Seriously, I don't even remember when it left. I

just realize that I haven't experienced it for a LONG time. I've been on t3 only

since about December.
