The sulfur that is of concern in mercury poisoning is in the form of

thiols or SH groups. NAC has cysteine in it, which does have a thiol

group; SAMe has methionine in it, which does have a thiol group;

taurine, thiamine, and biotin do technically contain sulfur but not in

the form of thiol groups, so these are not as reactive.
