Guest guest
I " think " chromium picolate is a blood sugar regulator in general ie can help with high and low blood sugar I just started taking it and I think its helping (I have high blood sugar). BUT I was in the health food store yesterday and in one of their health books it says it also helps with low blood sugar. I believe AI says on page 67 that it be used for hypo-glycemia (low blood sugar), but also on page 112 it indicates it can also be used for excess insulin (I think this is hyper-glecemia)?? I think its best to test adrenals first before taking a specific treatment. I was sure I had low adrenals BUT tests came back high cortisol with low dhea...so it could mess you up taking cortef if you have in fact high adrenals or low dhea Other people on the forum have more expertise in this though > Hi: > I am having symptoms of low blood sugar and anxiety but I do not have hypoglycemia. Would it be safe to try Adrenal Cortex Extract without doing a saliva test first? > Did anyone have an adverse side effect from taking this glandular? > Are there any bad side effects? Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I use Allergy Research Group ACE which is 250mg per cap and take 1 with breakfast and lunch and plan to increase soon. It does not contain any actual hormone, but provides support for your adrenals, therefore theoretically you cannot take too much. I had to start slow with 1/3 cap and titrate up. It did help with jittery/anxious feeling, but as I said, I had to start with a low dose.
