Eastern Daylight TimeSubj: (no subject) Dear Parents, Friends and Professionals, I am writing to bring your attention to two legislative candidates in your district that have very close races. Like you, both have taken action to advocate and make a difference for our loved ones with disabilities. Both have proven their personal commitment to the special needs community, and I believe both have truly earned your vote. Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff was the prime sponsor of our bill enacting a check-off on renewals for Florida license plates and driver’s licenses. This bill created a recurring source of revenue for autism and other developmental disabilities; it is expected to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year for direct services for the disabled population. Senator Bogdanoff has also championed legislation to expand McKay Scholarship options and school choice. Representative Bill Hager is also a committed friend. He personally directed a pledge to ARC from his unused campaign funds, and hired a young lady with developmental disabilities to work on his campaign. A member of Rep. Hagar’s staff has a family member with a significant disability and he has been very receptive and responsive to our issues. Please consider voting for them as they have been extraordinary advocates in the Florida Legislature for the issues that are important to our families. If you would like to assist them more, you can contact their campaigns: Ellyn Bogdanoff, Senate District 34 - Bill Hager, House District 89 - Sincerely, Goldstein K. Guest guest
Just my opinion- in general, Bogdonoff is not friendly to the DD community. Autism plates do not make someone a supporter. As a DD community, we need to really get together and elect and support politicians who really support us and our families. Sherry
