Hmm. Why increase the Armour? If the Cytomel addition helped so much, maybe

you need a combo of Armour and Cytomel? I guess I am not really

understanding the question of why you want to increase to begin with since

it sounded like the only reason you felt bad was taking your dose late.

Unless you mean because you are feeling more hypo lately? I personally would

wait for the labs, but since I am not on T3 or Armour, or Cherie

could probably advise you better on ramping up.

How much are you on now (Armour)? I think 1/2 a grain every 2 weeks is what

I hear everyone saying as long as your adrenals can handle it.

I wemt for my blood work yesterday and I was already feeling a little

hypo lately. I waited to take my armour until after the blood

test...around 11am. I felt so horrible by the time I was out of there!

I took my dose subliguially to get it right into my system and then

added a Cytomel (5mg) at 3pm. I started feeling better around 4pm. (I

don't normally take Cytomel...I had it from when I was on Synthroid.)

Today, I woke up at 6am and finally fell back asleep for an hour at

7am. I feel great now and think I got plenty of rest. I am wondering

if I should just go ahead and increase my armour today and not wait for

the blood work? Obviously, I am very dependent on the T3.

Val, Cherie, Cheri..what would you do? How much would you increase at

this time if 5mg of Cytomel hit the spot?

Hi Cheri,

Yes, I do mean LATELY as in my December labs showed both my T3 and T4

low in the normal range but my doctor wanted me to wait to increase

my dose. I prefer to take just the armour if possible. I have the

Cytomel from taking Synthroid with it in the past and suppose I could

continue, but I prefer taking just one medication if I can.

I am currently taking 2.25g of Armour and 8 IsoCort pellets (20mg of

adrenal cortex) daily. I took another Cytomel (5mg) at noon today

and am feeling sooo much better! I will see how I do tomorrow but

possibly I will just continue with for a few more days and then up my

armour. It seems apprarent I do not have enough T3 in reserves for

my body which is why I went downhill so fast yesteday!

If your adrenals are stable, then you can try 1/2 or 1/4 grain and then

again in 2 weeks if you still feel hypo. Make sure to watch for low cortisol

symptoms as you ramp up though.
