Also the OP might want to replace cow dairy products with goat dairy products (which I honestly think taste much better anyway). She might get most bang per buck by eliminating cow but letting herself have some goat, eg goat butter. Benefits without feelings of deprivation :-) Rosie/
Guest guest
If your body is developing antibodies to casein that is causing an autoimmune reaction such as joint inflammation and/or hypothyroid for example, ANY casein is going to cause those antibodies to get activated, whether from cow or goat. This is not the same thing as lactose intolerance at all. Liz > > > > Give it a good 3 weeks. Guest guest
Fat has nothing to do with casein content--casein is the protein. People with casein sensitivity should avoid all dairy, including whey...due to cross contamination of the milk proteins. Again, if the issue is one you feel such as joint pain, if you go without all dairy for 3 weeks and then try some, you will notice how your body is responding usually within a day or even hours. That doesn't mean the body isn't having a problem though. I am pretty lax with ingredients like butter in gluten free cookies for example becasue I don't feel the effects...but I have a feeling the antibodies are reacting in my body so I really shouldn't mess with it!
