Guest guest
I have been on Lexapro and Effexor and I can recommend neither, but, if someone was holding a gun to my head and forcing me to take one I would take the Lexapro. I literally tripped like I was on LSD when I took Effexor (not that I would know what that actually feels like but I've heard ). It was evil and I couldn't wait to get off of it but when I quit it I didn't sleep for two days and needed benzos to reduce that harsh afterlash. If you're used to the Lexapro I would stick with it. It did nothing for me but make me more anxious, sweaty, nauseous and more sleepless, but after trying four different SSRIs, I've sort of come to think that seritonin is not my problem - at least not one that can be addressed by those SSRIs. My sisters swear by it though. Watch out for Effexor.

Guest guest
Right, that withdrawal that I had was after being on it for only 2 days. > whatever you do dont take effexor or you may be stuck on it for life. > withdrawal coming off it is absolutely horrible >

Now I'm stable on Wellbutrin, which affects dopamine and norepinephine (reuptake inhibitors), and seritonin only indirectly. I think that whatever problems that might remain are centered in those systems - possibly dopamine more, given my positive reaction to a 1-week course of a VERY small dose of Risperdal.
