Guest guest
Hi Everyone,I'm trying to plan what I should do for my 5 year old autistic son this summer. I was thinking of enrolling him in the VPK summer program and hiring a shadow as opposed to a special summer camp. VPK is 6 hours a day for 10 weeks in the summer. I thought the structure and neurotypical peers would be good for him and maybe a better use of funds. Anyone who has thoughts or experience on this please share on or off list. I'm always trying to push him forward developmentally and on a very tight budget that's not always easy to navigate!

Guest guest
Personally I think that is a great idea. I had my son in typical VPK and he improved so much in every way. He is now in typical 1 rst grade.Sent from my iPhone Hi Everyone,I'm trying to plan what I should do for my 5 year old autistic son this summer. Guest guest
No, did have impulsivity issues but seems to be fading, lets hope for good, you know how things can return months later or years later.I think his OCD behaviors are strong but at our last parent teacher meeting the teacher said looking into the future she see's his socialization skillsholding him back more than anything else and we need to try to improve that area. Learning the prek curriculum at this point she said is a non issue he has a good handle on it. To: sList Sent: Friday, December 14, 2012 12:22 PM Subject: RE: VPK Does he have behaviors?
