Hello All,

As we come to the beginning of a new year, it's a time of renewal of knowledge for parents of kids with disabilities. You can find the Broward County Parent Training Calendar at

http://www.broward.k12.fl.us/studentsupport/ese/PDF/PARENTWS2.pdf

An educated parent has the resources to become a great advocate for their child.

I will be presenting on IEPs on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at ARC Broward From 9:30 – 11:30 AM

Individualized Education Plan for Parents Families are their child’s best advocates, but they need to be prepared to act on behalf of their child in ways that will bring upon the best result. This includes understanding the nature of their child’s disability, school district policies and procedures, basic principles of IDEA and how to become an active participant in the IEP process.

The IEP for Parents Workshop is a unique opportunity to receive the knowledge and skills needed to advocate successfully for your child. This is a training designed specifically for parents, guardians or future advocates. This training will prepare parents or guardians of children with disabilities to better advocate within the educational system on behalf of their children.

All participants will receive The Complete IEP Guide: How to Advocate for Your Special Ed Child book by Lawrence Siegel, Esq.

Take advantage of this opportunity to become a stronger advocate for your child.
