Guest guest
I have two severely affected ASD boys. They have opposite sensory issues, and will set each other off continuously (especially over long school breaks). One has violent tendencies (even on antipsychotics), and will physically go after my other ASD boy, when he shrieks, yells, or verbally stims too loudly. I am getting worn out running interference. I am considering the options of a group home or residential facility, for my aggressive son. Have any of you been in the position of having to place one of your children in a group home or residential facility? How did you choose the 'right one'? Can you share your experiences? We live in Volusia county, which unfortunately does NOT have ARC support services for children under 18, or respite through APD (unless you're homeless), or camps for the disabled. Parents here are completely on their own. Sara
