Do I need an attorney to file this report or is it something I can do on my own, by filling out the necessary papers and dropping them off at the court house? ( We only have to file the annual report; annual accounting is waived)Seeking advise from those who have gone thru this process....Thank you in advance for all your help, Veliyathil

Guest guest
Is this true? My husband went to a guardianship training 6 years ago when our daughter turned18 and was told that “she” must have a lawyer representing her for these filings. The dang guardianship(plenary) cost us $3000 and since then we’ve been paying court costs and lawyer fees that amount to $450each year….just to take care of our own child. In fact this lawyer gets in touch with us each year to remind usto file. Have the laws changed or are we being misled?ThanksSherry mom to 24 Re: Filing annual report to court Posted by: " Nila Benito " mamanila@... disabilitiesmom Date: Wed Jan 9, 2013 6:05 am ((PST)) You do NOT need an attorney. And as someone just remarked…her actual attorney fees are $250..the rest is court costs.I’ll check with Dr. Google and on the Medicaid site. Thanks so much.Sherry . . Guest guest
When you ask for indigent services - the court assigns the attorney and sets up all the doctors/social workers etc. To: "deniseslist " <deniseslist > Sent: Saturday, January 12, 2013 11:53 PM Subject: RE: Re: Filing annual report to court Not sure if this is the correct process but check this out http://www.faldp.org/civil-indigent.htmlTo: sList From: gldcst@...Date: Sat, 12 Jan 2013 13:05:21 -0500Subject: Re: Filing annual report to court Thanks Nila Another probably dumb question but how do we get in touch with indigent attorney services? She is on Medicaid.
