Here's a look at some upcoming school events

for families affected by autism.

Autism Intensive Communication Academy: Application for 2013-2014

This special education option, offered by Miami-Dade County Public Schools, is designed for non-verbal children with significant developmental delays. MDCPS has three Academy Sites: Blue Lakes Elementary School, Redondo Elementary School, and Gratigny Elementary School.

These programs are technology-rich, have a very low student-to-teacher ratio, and are highly targeted at supporting the development of communication skills.

Applications are due by January 15, 2013 for the 2013-2014 school year.

Vocational Skills Training

Our training programs are designed for teens and young adults on the autism spectrum. We want to help them express interest in potential careers while learning necessary skills for independent living. Our community-integrated programs include typical mentoring, staff support, and comprehensive assessments.

South Florida Autism Charter School: Open Enrollment

SFACS is now accepting kindergarten applications for the 2013-2014 school year. Visit our website to download an enrollment application, or request one in our office. Complete the application and submit it (by mail or in person) with a copy of your child's most recent public school IEP.
