Guest guest
Hi Joan,My story is that I have been hypoT for over 20yrs. That last 4 yrs have been horrible with doctors telling me I am fine because my TSH says so. I gained over 30#, I would wake up in the morning nauseous, and be sleeping in a chair by 10 am. It was affecting everything in my life. Depression, self-esteem were horrible. I then found these groups, found out my issue could be Rt3. After 8 drs. I found a naturopath who knew a lot but was willing to learn more. I went to her with what I learn on this group and the NTH group. To make a long story short. I found my reverse T3 was 315 with the top of the range at 350. My Rt3/Ft3 ratio was 10.5. After a year, I have lost 21#, have more energy, have a better disposition, lost the teeth marks along the side of my tongue, sleep MUCH better. These a just some of the improvements for me. My Reverse T3 is now <17. Do not get me wrong, I am still having issues but I can tell you I feel 100x better than I did a year ago or four years ago. I think this disease is an on going disease where we have to keep working at it but when you FEEL better you are ABLE to work at it with a clear head ( OH ya' brain fog is GONE ) I know I am doing the right thing for my body because it feels better.Hang in there, it is not easy but I have been there and glad I stuck with it. Keep on learning, keep on reading and keep asking questions to this group AND your doctor. Go to him with info you understand and can argue your point. Hope this helps. Best of health to you and don't give up.VeniziaSubject: Someone who has cleared rt3, please! To: RT3_T3 Date: Monday, June 21, 2010, 10:43 AM Could someone who has been through this and cleared rt3 please tell us your story? Guest guest
Thank you, Carol! I am still working up on my t3. My rt3 ratio was 10.78 when I started a few weeks ago. I am also working on my ferritin level, which was low, so I'm going slow with the cytomel. Did you clear at 12 weeks, and when you did, was it a big difference? My brain fog is not as bad as it was, and I feel like if I could get over this air hunger thing, I could really make some strides. I tend to overdo it on weekends, since my husband wants to get out. Right now, I'm having to work from home for him....paperwork, and much of the time have very little energy. R most folks having to stop work? Thanks so much for your input. It helps! Guest guest
Joan,I would say breakthrough was more of a gradual feeling for me. I do not recall a "one day I could feel the difference" type of thing. Air- hunger was a big problem for me. Also, if I had been working at the time before I had the breakthrough, I would not have been able to stay with the job. I did not have a ferritin issue in fact mine was high which I do not know if that was a good thing or not.Venizia From: Joan <krupickajoan@ yahoo.com>Subject: Someone who has cleared rt3, please! To: RT3_T3 (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) comDate: Monday, June 21, 2010, 10:43 AM Could someone who has been through this and cleared rt3 please tell us your story? Guest guest
Venezia...don't want to keep harping on this, but since the air hunger is a scary thing for me, it's my worst symptom besides fatigue and fog....which IS better. For some reason on Friday, my breathing was much better. I was really feeling good, and scared to go to bed because every time I do feel better, and go to sleep, I wake up and the air hunger is back. UGH! And when it gets better, it's always in the evening, too! Are we getting more t3 in our cells in the evening or something? Guest guest
I can't say for sure, Joan. Val can probably give you more info on that as far as more T3 at night. I would say maybe it has something to do with your cortisol levels but again Val is the person to comment.Venizia From: Joan <krupickajoan@ yahoo.com>Subject: Someone who has cleared rt3, please! To: RT3_T3 (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) comDate: Monday, June 21, 2010, 10:43 AM Could someone who has been through this and cleared rt3 please tell us your story? Guest guest
Thanks, Val! I DID add it in three nights ago, and was afraid it would keep me up, but so far so good. I actually think I'm going to sleep faster, and it's only 6.25 mcg! I will try kicking it up to 12.5 tonight and see how I do. That puts me total at 50 mcg at a little over two weeks in. Is this ok? My temps are good and stable. I am working on my ferritin issue as well. THANKS! Guest guest
Yes because wehne on too low a dose ut si used up quickly but as your dpses become more what you need it is not immediatley scarfed up by the cells., and thus lasts longer. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ Is it common when you're ramping up on Cytomel to "feel" it when you first take it, and then a little while after, feel as if it's running out? Weird feeling for me, but I sort of "CRAVE" my next dose! From: Joan <krupickajoan@ yahoo.com> Subject: Someone who has cleared rt3, please! Would it be better to have a higher dose in the a.m., or just stick with this: 7:00 a.m. - 12.5, 11:00 a.m. 12.5, 3:00 p.m. - 12,5, and now 10:00 pm., 12.5? Guest guest
Joan I'm as new to this as you are so can only speak for myself. Yes I can tell a difference when ramping up or when the dose is good because I have more energy, not cold, no brain fog and can actually do a few things around the house. Yes I can tell when it's time for the next dose, it's like a car running out of gas...I just poop out like my energy plug has been pulled. I try to make sure I'm on time with my doses so energy levels stay pretty stable but if I'm not aware of the time the energy suddenly sputters and I realize I'm past my time to take my meds. I take mine every 3 hours with my HC, seems to work pretty good for me. Wish I could spread it out over 4 hours but I'd be up and down all day if I did that, I suspect some folks here can dose every 4 hours though.<<Posted by: "Joan Krupicka" krupickajoan@... krupickajoanMon Jun 21, 2010 11:51 am (PDT)Is it common when you're ramping up on Cytomel to "feel" it when you first take it, and then a little while after, feel as if it's running out?
