Guest guest
You're probably just extrmely hypo from the change in thyroid meds when you have a rt3 problem and *maybe* too much HC, which can make your hypo feel even worse. I don't know if antibiotics can make you feel lazy, but certainly they can affect you, especially if they are killing off something. ly, , I think you need to just reevaluate your situation and maybe, I know this SUCKS, but maybe start all over again. I've had to do that before, but I stuck to my plan this time and so far so good. I didn't go off the t3 come h*ll or high water and just figured out WHY I would have an issue here or there. Believe me, I have spent THOUSANDS going to docs all over the country, so I understand. I know you just went to Hertoghe. But it seems you're getting worse and I think you had an rt3 problem, so I wouldn't have gone on t4 in any form if it had been me. You have to take what knowledge you can from the good doctors and put it together with what you know to be true from your own research. I have learned more and done more for my health with this forum and Val's help than any doc. At least he will give you scripts, eh? ;-) I would look at your thyroid labs and see if you have a rt3 problem, then get off the t4 and back onto a stable program with t3 only and HC doesed according to the mods recommendation at the NTH Adrenals group. Since you seem to have so many issues with electrolytes, why not test your aldosterone? Maybe you need Florinef! It helped me like a miracle. I've been sick 5 years and only now getting better. In the meantime, I let docs tell me I HAD to take some Armour with the t3 because you need the t4, t2 and t1. Well, that's not true!! And didn't help my rt3 problem at all. No one told me I needed to test electrolytes on Florinef. A whole lot of docs, not all bad 100%, but not what I needed, either. And you have to FACE the fact that you have some anxiety issues going on that are NOT helping your adrenal sitaution at all. Yes, bad adrenals cause anxiety, so does low thyroid. You MAY NEED SOME HELP getting that anxiety under control so you can separate what is happening from the HC and thyroid meds and what is just happening because of anxiety. Even if you just take up meditation or something. Or some herbals. Even try some theanine or GABA. I am NOT saying this to be mean or cruel. My GOD, I have suffered with feeling UNREAL and though I was going crazy! How's that for scary?! But I stuck it out because I knew if I fixed my hormones it would go away and it is but I needed some help in the meantime. This is the best advice I can give you. I know you are getting your tonsils worked on soon. I want the best for you. I do think you are in a bad place right now. Your posts sound desperate and I am concerned for you. But you must help yourself, too. It is very frustrating because I know that there is something wrong but no one else seems to understand how bad this rT3 can make you feel. I usually try to remind myself that rT3 blocks the receptors all over your body that affect almost every metabolic process (things like the production of serotonin, melatonin, enzymes, hormones) and that until the rT3 clears I am going to feel like I'm half dead. You're not alone in this. Kat

Guest guest
Ariela I am on week 11, so I feel that I am so close, but still such a long way away. I know there is no miracle cure and I also know that my rT3 problem has created other problems in my body. My ratio was 6.7 which is very bad, so I know that when I clear (whenever that happens) I have a lot of repairing to do. I too have a huge fear that I will stay this way forever, but if we don't have hope then we have nothing. Good luck with your journey. Guest guest
Hi, Just thought I'd add a ray of light to everyone. Just 4 days ago I cleared and I had 3 days of being a bit hyper, but it was amazing as I'd never felt so well for years. I'd forgotten that feeling and I felt like crying. Now I'm trying to find my stabilizing dose, and have found that I am probably having too much hc as I am quite sleepy during the day. I actually took 12 weeks and 5 days I think - I was getting a bit impatient. I imagine it was a bit like being pregnant and overdue, but being a guy I'll never know that :-) I had 3 years of RT3 problems, and then it got a lot worse the last 6 months (ratio of 6) - I almost came off the hc but the RT3 caused me to crash and I despaired of having to go through the whole weaning off process again. But I want to say to people hang on in there, it can get better. Nothing stays the same. Guest guest
Rod, thanks so much for sharing! It's great to know that you are feeling so good, and that you did when you cleared! Did you ever have air hunger or shortness of breath with your hypo? Am hoping that clears up for me! Any tips you can give are much appreciated by we who are still getting there! Guest guest
Hi, No air hunger really - I had Graves then RAI treatment to zap it. Main problem is just been feeling really rotten due to the RT3, and then also developed intolerance to Carbs, Lost huge amounts of weight down to 102 pounds - very scary, but switched to a low carb diet and have put on 12 pounds so far, though my ribs are still showing a bit. Probably on too much hc now, which I think caused it in the first place, so need to try and get this down to a better level. Guest guest
Interesting, Rod. When I got sick 3 months ago, I lost 15 lbs. immediately. Then it stablized. I also have a problem with fast carbs, and as we found out by testing, am gluten and wheat intolerant. VERY! Causes major bloating for me. Not sure which came first.....stressed out adrenals, or low thyroid. But I am definitely dealing with both! Plus low ferritin, low b12, working on electrolytes, etc!
