Guest guest
Last week I saw my doctor and he said my labs below where weird because TSH shouldn't be so low taking only T3. He explained me that TSH is regulated by the amount of T4 and that having so little T4 in my body, my TSH should be higher. He said that therefore my labs indicated I have secondary hypothyroidism instead of primary. Is this true?? Does this make any sense or is he just talking nonsense??? Is my TSH really abnormally low according to the labs below? at 37.5 T3 (12/13 hours after last T3 dose); 27.5 HC: TSH: less than 0.01 uU/ml (0.3-4.5) Total T4: 2.28 ug/dl (4.5-12.0) Free T4: 0.29 ng/dl (0.71-1.9) Total T3: 2.68 ng/ml (0.8-2.0) Free T3 : 3.88 pmol/L (2.63-5.7) Thanks a lot,

Guest guest
I have hashi's and need to keep my thyroid suppressed. I'm hoping T3 alone keeps the tsh down to a dull roar. Guest guest
I thought so!! And he is meant to be an expert on thyroid treatment because he is hypo himself... What's wrong with doctors?! I have only been reading on this topic for two years and I feel I know more than him already! Really strange! Thank you very much! > > > > > > I have hashi's and need to keep my thyroid suppressed. Guest guest
Okay, I am very comfused now. Look at my latest labs: tsh - 0.21 (0.4-3) ft4 - 1.8 (0.9-1.8) ft3 - 1.5 (1.8-4.2) Ft4 at the top of the range, ft3 below bottom range and deprresed tsh. Don't think it was my t3 that made the tsh ao low, so it must be the t4. So - what determains the level of tsh - t4 or t3? could it be both? If tsh was sensitive to t3, why was my tsh so low while t3 was so low asweel? And after I got these labs you guys explained to me that my labs prove what you are talking about - tsh showing hyper while not enough t3 gets to the cells. So comfused... > > > > > > I have hashi's and need to keep my thyroid suppressed. I'm hoping T3 > > alone keeps the tsh down to a dull roar.
