Guest guest
With budget cuts and growing numbers of kids with disabilities, it's more important than ever to be educated on your rights as a parent of a special needs kid. Families are their child’s best advocates, but they need to be prepared to act on behalf of their child in ways that will bring upon the best result. This includes understanding the nature of their child’s disability, school district policies and procedures, basic principles of IDEA and how to become an active participant in the IEP process. The IEP for Parents Workshop is a unique opportunity to receive the knowledge and skills needed to advocate successfully for your child. This is a training designed specifically for parents, guardians or future advocates. This training will prepare parents or guardians of children with disabilities to better advocate within the educational system on behalf of their children.
