The 2013 Dan Marino Foundation WalkAbout Autism is this Saturday! Before we get together to raise awareness, enjoy a family fun filled day and celebrate as a community, we want to thank you one more time for lending your time and energy to the DMF WalkAbout Autism. There are not enough words to express our gratitude! Why is the DMF WalkAbout Autism a success? Because of individuals like YOU! Therefore, THANK YOU – and see you this Saturday, January 26th at Sun Life Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins!  Event Day Instructions & Tips:For your convenience, we have created a map that provides an enhanced visual of the event footprint (Click Hereto download map). In addition, here are some instructions and quick tips to help make your day at the DMF WalkAbout Autism a great experience:-The 2013 DMF WalkAbout Autism will be taking place from 9:00am-1:00pm at Sun Life Stadium, located at 347 Don Shula Drive Miami Gardens, Florida 33056 -Enter SunLife Stadium Parking through Gate 2 or 3, Gates will officially open at7:30am • Upon entering the parking lot, you will be asked to make a $5.00 parking donation, proceeds will directly benefit the DMF WalkAboutAutism -Tailgating is permitted; however, it is limited to the parking lot. No personal tents or tables are allowed inside the event -Pleasenote carefully where you have parked your car before entering the event(take a photo of the markers in the area if necessary) -Wehave a newly created Team Gathering space adjacent to the Event Registration area. This is the perfect place to meet and gather all of your team members, take some team photos before approaching the event Registration area, and enjoy a light complimentary breakfast Quick Event Check-In/Registration Tip (Teams and Team Captains):Ifyou are a team captain of a pre-registered team, it is recommended thatas team captain you check in your entire group at the Pre-Registered tent located within the event registration area. This will help avoid having large crowds at registration.Ifyou have additional people that will be joining you on event day and are not pre-registered to your team, you can register them directly on-site (This includes children, additional family members, etc.)Also,if you are dropping off donations that need to be credited to a team, please make sure that you gather all of the currencies (checks, cash, money orders) and place them in one single donation envelope that will be provided at registration. Make sure that the envelope is properly labeled with your individual participant or team information. -Ifyou have young children attending with you, we encourage you to take a picture of your child with your phone or camera the day of the event in case that you are temporarily separated from your child. Volunteers willhelp your child locate his/her lost parent. -A social story/visuals support has been created for this event. Click Here to download the Visuals Support. Grand Plaza activities and                             performances on the Grand Plaza stage begin 1:00pm                  End of Event  Common Questions: 1. Will T shirts be provided? No, most teams have created their own team T-shirts for the event. 2. How long is the WalkAbout and what happens if I or someone I am with cannot walk?The WalkAbout is 3/4 of a mile. If you cannot walk the distance, pleasesee a supervisor/volunteer dressed in an orange shirt for assistance.3. Is food available? Yes, light breakfast will be provided and food vendors will be available for the purchase of select items.4. Can I bring cash and checks that I have collected to the event?Yes, please bring your donations with you and we will be happy to record them for you in our system.
