Guest guest
NO thermometer shoudl go too high from the length of time you keep it in there. Physically it can;t. The expansion of what ever is in them is temperature sensiticve so it cannto keep going higher from being in there lionger it must stop at the temp that it is exposed to. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
I find that 4-5 minutes is ideal with me unless I accidentally move my tongue or lips and cause the thermometer to lose it's place then I start over. When I get a really low reading I always double check and sure enough, it has been user error. Cheri -----Original Message----- Speaking of non-digital oral thermos, does it matter how long one leaves it in? I have found that with especially the mercury-substitute ones that I think contain alcohol, that 3 - 5 minutes usually isn't long enough so I'll leave it in there for a good long time, sometimes forgetting about it for over 10 minutes while I type an e-mail (like I am doing right now). Does it matter? Does it give a false higher reading by doing so? .
