Guest guest
Hi Olif > " Yes, this is what happened to me! That is why I just couldn't start slowly. I still can't go 4 hours in between doses, like on the STTM site. I have to dose 3 hours in between my first 2 morning doses and then 3.5 hours, and sometimes 4 hours for the following. I also take 2.5 mg before bed, because I need it to sleep, or I can't sleep or awaken with low cortisol symptoms during the night. > > If you are doing worse in the a.m., which is how I was, you probably need more than 2.5 mg for that first dose. " I think you are right. I feel worse when i take 2.5mg then if i dont take any at all in the morning. I took 5mg this morning, and although still obviously not enough, was much better than 2.5mg > > " I was raising 2.5 mg every day for a while, because I just couldn't get rid of the awful symptoms. I would get internal shaking and eventually nausea if I didn't dose. My first symptom of low cortisol seems to be a heavy heart beat. I think it is racing, but when I feel my pulse, I find out it isn't racing at all. It seems to be pausing occasionally though and just beating harder, but not faster. HC gets rid of it. " I too have alot of heart fluctuations. My heart flutters for a while and then beats quite hard again for a couple of beats. Often as well when i try and fall asleep, and just as i am nodding of I jerk and wake myself up again. Magnesium helps with this though. 2.5mg of HC at night i did for the first time last night, and i did find it quite relaxing and got quite a nice refreshing sleep. > > " Recently I increased my first dose to 10 mg, instead of 7.5, because I would still have the heavy heart beat in the a.m. until I took my 2nd dose. So far this seems to be helping. I tried taking off 2.5 mg later in the afternoon, but it doesn't seem to be working. That means I am at 25 mg again. Maybe in a few days to a week I can go down to 22.5 again and eventually 20. I also had a couple stressful days and didn't stress dose. That could also be why I am requiring 25 mg the last couple of days " . > This does sound like your first dose isn't high enough. This is when I had most of my problems in the beginning too- that first a.m. dose! Thanks for the advice, it looks like as i increase i will always have to keep my morning dose the highest. > > " Are your free's testing high in your blood? Did you by chance get saliva free's too? If they are high in your blood and low in your saliva, there is a chance for a thyroid dump. You might need to go slower than I did, since I wasn't on any thyroid support. With your early a.m. symptoms, it does sound like your first dose needs to be higher though. Maybe you can increase that one to 5 mg and hold it for 2-3 days. I think if you pay attention, you can increase by symptoms though. Once you know what your low cortisol symptoms are, you can increase as you are experiencing them. Well, that is what I did and how I was increasing 2.5 mg everyday. I was worried the symptoms wouldn't go away, but they did when I got to 25 mg, and I started feeling really, really great! " Thats brilliant that you are feeling so much better Olif I have just done a saliva test for my thyroid after my blood test results were high, but have two weeks to wait. I did a Saliva Test in the UK, but i dont trust the results. Cortisol levels were high on the pm and evening readings (when i feel better) and my Testosterone and DHEA-s were through the roof all day and this companies testing has had the same results for a lot of people on STTM, so now I am waiting for the Diagnos-Techs results When I first did my thyroid blood test my Free T4 was midrange but my Free T3 was low in the range. So I am now on Armour and have risen to 3 grains in two months (doing the dosing on STTM). I have seen a specialist who also diognised me with hypothyroidism from my dry skin, swollen tongue, puffy face, lowish temps (not really low get to 36.7C in the day but only 36.2C in the mornings), and high blood pressure (which has come down alot since starting Armour). However i still feel bad (slightly improved, since starting Armour but not since i got to 1 and 1/2 grains) and now my Free T4 and T3 to close to the top of the range very quickly, so they must just be pooling in the blood. I also believe this as although my temps and blood pressure have improved, they are no where near optimal yet. I do definitely feel the need for HC, and if a get a thyroid dump, so be it, as they only last for 2 or 3 days and although stressful on the adrenals, i will at least know (or even confirm) much suspicions are correct and the thyroid can get into my cells and can improve from there. However thanks again for the advice and will raise 2.5mg every 2 days i think. I will let you know what level of dosage i get to LOL.
