I can't remember where you are at with diet and supplements, but it may be that you can work on tweaking those while doing the dental work. Only you can decide how much stress your body can take right now. Most people would make the mistake of trying a dose that was too high, so I'm emphasizing that if you do decide to chelate use a very low dose. If there are diet and supplement things that you can do work on those because it's amazing how much symptom relief a person can get with those two interventions. >Also, is now a good time > to get a repeat hair metals test done? First hair test did NOT meet any of the counting rules, but having had about 12 amalgams since 15 odd years, with some of them just drilled out with no protection makes me believe that I cannot but be mercury poisoned. I want a repeat test to see where my body burden is now with all the amalgam removed as far as mercury goes, and specially as a baseline to compare while chelating. Does this make sense? > > J > > > > > > Thanks. > > >

Does this make sense? > Yes, it makes sense to me. Be sure to get an essential elements test from DDI. Be aware that it is possible to not meet the counting rules and still be mercury poisoned. Sometimes this would happen if the greatest exposures to mercury were long ago, if most of the mercury is in the brain, if the person has supplemented for some time, if the person is genetically less susceptible to mercury transport derangement. The ultimate test of toxicity is to experience symptoms with chelation. Andy doesn't recommend using hair tests to track chelation (I think he means that symptoms are a better indication of progress). I find it useful to test once in a while to see if the test is looking better (and after a year or so of chelation mine no longer met the counting rules, but I know I still have a long time of chelation ahead).
