Guest guest
Wow. Thank you for your responses. This list moves so fast, I had to search back four pages to find it! OK, I think I can swing doing that canary club test first before addressing the adrenals. That is doable. I heard horror stories of $2,000 in testing, which is what we cannot afford. I will look back at the links in your post again some other day because today I have to deal with my crown that fell out. We were chelating w/ dmsa every 4 hours 3 days on 4 days off but we stopped after a few rounds because of the excessive exaustion. OK. I will now save up for those tests. Guest guest
To find your own message responses, when you log into the groups under Yahoo, under the message section put your user id in the " search " box or the title of your message and it will bring up all messages that pertain to your post. Makes it MUCH faster is you are only interested in your particular question. Okay, so you were on a pretty good chelation time and day schedule so nothing out of the ordinary there. Guest guest
Thats why we stopped chelation and thats why we are here to fix the adrenals first. I am so glad to be here. I have a strong feeling that I am in the place I need to be right now by joining this list. I am so happy that we might be finding answers for our daughter, who is 14 and sleeps 16 hours a day or more (we homeschool, and it is more than just lazy teen syndrome, something is wrong..) I had tossed around doing an epstein barr test, but for the same cost we could test adrenals which sounds more likely to me. We will definately be testing her adrenals and following the advise here before doing anymore chelation.

Guest guest
Epstein Barr Virus is VERY common among peopekl with both weak adrenals and hypothyroidism. It is said by some experts it si a trigger for hashimoto's and I also see it written that it attacks the adrnelas and lowers cortiosl. Knowing the cause does little to correct the problem, thugh it may give oyu peace of mind to knwo what started it all, knowing how to treat it is ultimately more important! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Cheap diagnosis like a $144 adrenal test followed by actual treatment in my mind seems more logical with limited funds than to spend thousands on some diagnosis. It is the same with my son with autism, we bypassed the testing, except for the hairtesting and went straight for the cure. This strategy has worked well for our family so I think we will stick with it. The adrenal testing sounds like it would be more important than to know whether or not she has epstein barr. I know, in October she kissed this boy, and shortly after that she got the symptoms of excessive sleeping. I think she contracted epstein barr from him. He also looks much paler and different than he did a year before.

Guest guest
When you get your labs back, post them and we will help. If you have adrenal fatigue, you will want to address that first. When you are ready to chelate again, you might consider ALA only. From reading the adult chelation posts, it seems while DMSA can be very effective, it is also the one that seems to have the most side effects. And make sure to make a list of minerals and supplements that you will need to supplement in high doses before chelating again. That is one of the biggest drawbacks of both DMSA and DMPS that ALA doesn't have as badly. People would be amazed how many things you can contract with something as seemingly insignificant as kissing. The most common thing is mononucleosis. However, you can also transfer fungal, bacterial and various viruses. Out of curiosity, did you have your Autistic son on the Cutler protocol too? I know he has worked wonders with autistic kids. Guest guest
Its the other way around actually - ALA is the one that causes more side effects for most people, and DMSA and DMPS have less. This is why some people do ALA and DMSA together, because it helps reduce the side effects for many people compared to ALA alone. However, some people are intolerant of one and not the other. ALA is the only one that will cross the blood-brain barrier. Cutler has said that DMSA will not deplete minerals but it definitely helps to supplement. Check with the autism-mercury or frequent-dose-chelation lists before you start chelating again. > > When you get your labs back, post them and we will help. Guest guest
I meant side effects on the adrenals and thyroid, not in general. ALA is an antioxidant. DMSA and DMPS are not. ALA even though it is also a chelator has protective benefits for the body. A lot of people have trouble with ALA because they use too high a dose or don't follow the correct protocol. Others just can't tolerate it period. DMSA not affecting minerals is something I disagree with Cutler on. I don't know if it is the DMSA itself or other interactions with the body. I have his book and have been on his lists since 2001. Most of his stuff though I agree with though. I also think there are other chelators he does not recognize.
