Guest guest
C, Mine all started with two things that happened within a few weeks of each other in 2003 - going on birth control pills and receiving the Hep B. vaccine series. I feel that both probably contributed. Melinda
Guest guest
My case is not typical – I went into full-blown menopause 2 years ago (severe hot flashes, etc.) with no other warnings. Odd - as I had had a hysterectomy more than 30 years ago (they left in the ovaries). The hot flashes were so severe and disabling that I started HRT. Within six months, I developed VV, LS, and PN. My PN started with just a slight twinge of pain on the left side of my vagina and my inner thigh. Within another six months, I was completely in bed 24/7 on massive doses of narcotics. Some conclusions my doctor made – “skinny butt” women are more prone to PN (which I am). The majority of the women he has seen have small frames and skinny butts. In addition, I could have a birth defect where the Alcocks canal is too narrow for the pudendal nerve. Another observation – I was a computer programmer before I retired (I use to design web pages for corporations) and I spent 18+ hours a day sitting on a hard office chair. After retirement, I started a genealogy project and spent 18+hours a day at home doing research (curled up in a ball) on another hard computer chair. So sitting on a hard surface for many hours might be my cause. Also during my life, I have fallen several times on my tailbone, once with a small fracture. That is my story … Some of the reasons that my doctor has seen that developed into PN, besides sitting to much: truck drivers (but that is sitting), horseback riding, cyclists, hikers & climbers, hysterectomies, difficult childbirth, severe constipation and weight lifting. nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Carolyn52192@... I was never a runner and worked my way up to 4-5 miles and am wondering if this could have been the catalyst for all my V issues. I was, however, diagnosed (but I believe misdiagnosed) with a bacterial infection and took clindesse an antibiotic and shortly after all the nerve burning started. Guest guest
My clitoradynia started two weeks after I began taking antibiotics for a bladder/kidney infection. This was about 8 months ago. I haven't been normal since. I was on antibiotics for about 70-80 days total. Carolyn52192@... wrote: Can we review how everyone thinks that their issues started? Guest guest
This is all just speculation, since I won't get to see a specialist to confirm or dismiss my theory until the 14th, but I feel it was a combination of being given birth control pills that were too strong (OrthoTriCycline-i weighed 88lbs at the time, and the pills are gauged for a 150lb woman, and apparently these were " high dosed " for a woman of that size, or something to that effect), and stress. the symptoms didn't start very seriously until a few years after the pills, but i started having the lower ab cramping about a year ago and was officially diagnosed last November. again, this is just speculation, but i can't think of anything else-never had a UTI or yeast infection or anything of that sort.
