Guest guest
Lou, I do wear the Oxy-view frames whenever I'm out Fancy! They cost about $250.00 and that's just for the frame. You have to order the frames from Oxy-view and then get them to your optician. One of the groups has a discount for the frames now...not when I got them however. You should go on -line to oyxview.com and get them to send you the info. Then take that to the optician who can tell you what type of frame will work for your prescription. He'll then have to order the lenses and put them in the frames . I know it's a pain...but with these frames I've reclaimed my face at least for going out!!! No tubing to sit on my face or ears and just the transparent little things to get the O2. I've worn glasses for 62 years so the glasses don't bother me at all. I do feel more like the "old" me when I wear the oyx-view and that's important. I slip the tubing under my clothing so that less is obvious and that's a good thing for me at least. Z fibriotic NSIP/05 Z 64, fibriotic NSIP/o5/PA And “mild” PH/10/07 and Reynaud’s too!! No, NSIP was not self-inflicted…I never smoked! Guest guest
Do you find the flow to be the same through them? How are they on the nose? Now, when back home do you switch to different frames? Or same frames without the oxygen aspect? Or stay same as out? > > > > HI THERE: I was looking at all the fab. pics of Joyce and her family > > and friends. Guest guest
Bruce, I only wear the Oxy-views when going out for fun. They are much heavier than my everyday glasses which are almost weightless. At home I drag the stupid 65 ft plastic hoses all over with the continuous Liq. OX.and wear my regular frames. I only use the Helios when out and the oxy-view is just OK for delivery of the 3-3.5 lpm. I try not to talk as much as I used to when wearing them...the flow from the Helios itself is what is is limiting..it really does not give out the 3-3.5! So talking and eating are a challenge. But the frames do help me feel like "Me" because my face isn't covered up with the tubing. It's vain I know but it does help me to feel more comfortable being out with the O2. Guest guest
I would think the Helios on Demand would be an issue since its flow on demand is really rated higher than it should be. Does it do better on continuous? I hadn't thought about the weight issue. Mine are heavy enough just from the lenses. > > > > > > > > HI THERE: I was looking at all the fab. pics of Joyce and her family > > > > and friends. Guest guest
Bruce, My Helios just works on Pulse. It's the smallest one. I'm thinking about going up a size so that I can have the option of continuous or pulse. The O2 guy is researching for me. Do you remember when you were a kid having you eyes examined? They used to put these really strange frames on you and then kept switching out lenses until the prescription was determined. That's the way the Oyx-views feel to me. ..they're worth the extra weight as I've said previously but not for everyday use. Guest guest
I have referred to the Helios Plus before as a toy. I know it works for some but the pulse only and the fact that Helios 3 is more like anyone else's 2, render it of limited use to many of us. Sometimes I need continuous and/or more than 3 lpm on pulse. I absolutely prefer the Helios Marathon and although its bigger it just meets my needs much better. As to the glasses, I do have one problem in doing as you say and just wearing them out. With the severity of my vision, I can't switch back and forth between glasses. So, if I used another pair they would have to be the same frame and lens. My eyes take time to adapt to a change and I'm not talking minutes but days. That was a problem as a kid trying contacts that I couldn't go back and forth. If I wore the contacts for the day, then I couldn't see well out of the glasses. Still, I'm going to ultimately give it a try. Got to talk to someone about fitting and which frame and what lenses and such. I'm going to see if there is any retailer in my area who actually carries them. > > > > > > > > > > > > HI THERE: I was looking at all the fab. pics of Joyce and her > > family > > > > > > and friends.
