Guest guest
, I always request copies of all tests and reports. I keep a book of every result, report and physician visit notes such that we have Marc's total file for reference at any time. When we see a new doctor, I make a copy of the total file to give to the doctor (I do this as a " just in case " backup. At all but one appointment, I had a piece of information in the " just in case " duplicate that was not included in our referring physician's provided paperwork. Having this information made our appointments substantially more productive as we could answer a question immediately and move on). Request the MRCP film (most likely will be on CD) from the radiology provider. The radiologist's report will be included with it. Simply call the radiology office that did the MRCP, tell them you need a copy of the film and report and indicate when you will be picking it up. You will need to provide a picture ID upon receipt. We really take a lot away from seeing the images and reading the analysis. This insight will be very helpful as you move forward. I also like to receive and review visit reports from every doctor we see. Sometimes you miss something in the conversation or they make an errant note. I like to make any corrections immediately such that I know doctors who read this down the line get an accurate picture. You also get an interesting read on how your doctor perceives you and where they identify your concerns. Good luck. Buy an awesome binder and start building your game plan!
