Guest guest
So far, we have done fairly well here at the coast of California; imported foodshave been stopped--oddly Sacramento, the state capital, has the highest increasein radiation since all these tragic events. New York (1) and California (2) havenuclear reactors on or near earthquake faults, and near large bodies of water.(Sacramento is more than 120 miles inland.)I feel so sorry for the people of Japan, and especially the elderly, who may havesurvived Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear attacks, and the children, who may neverrecover from so great a trauma.I have been keeping in touch with local owners of Japanese restaurants--who usemostly foods grown and/or manufactured here--so far all have not lost family members; I have phoned 51 restaurants to date--made me feel as if at least I could dosomething, no matter how small.Love to all of you here with us,nTo: Group <mserslife >Sent: Wed, March 23, 2011 10:07:57 AMSubject: Japanese radiation? I haven't heard how much radiation California has received from the nuclear disasters in Japan? Arizona has just gotten a small amount of radiation--just detected yesterday or the day before. Poor Japan. I just saw this in the news:WASHINGTON - The Food and Drug Administration issues ALERT that will halt imports of produce and dairy products at entry to the U. S. from certain areas of Japan where a leaking radiation has comtaminated food and water. The Alert provides "Detention Without Physical Examination of Products from Japan Due to Radionuclide Contamination"The U. S. Customs and Border Patrol will also be involved in the effort. The FDA Alert product list includes:- Vegetable/Vegetable Products- Milk/Butter/Dried Milk Products- Filled Milk/Imitation Milk Products- Milk Base Formula Product (Similac, Enfamilm Etc.)(Baby) "FDA and the Japanese government will continue to collaborate to ensure products from the affected prefectures do not pose a health risk to U.S. consumers. FDA will continue monitoring the public health risks due to radionuclide contamination, and when appropriate will remove the Import Alert and resume routine coverage of entries. Guest guest
So far here I know the radiation has been detected west of Phoenix. Perhaps it's been detected in other areas of Arizona but I'm not aware of it. The path of the radiation drift is peculiar if Sacramento has higher radiation than San Francisco for example. Perhaps it makes sense--just not to me:) lollove to you SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
