We will have the "usual" in the garden: potatoes, tomatoes, squash (yellow crookneck, zucchini, scalloped, winter), corn, watermelon, eggplant, cucumbers, turnips, carrots, beans, peas, lettuce, radishes, okra, lima beans... there's probably others that I can't think of:) My kids plant the garden because it would be too much for me. But I do some weeding and I love to harvest. If it wasn't for me doing the weeding it would be like the old story "The Little Red Hen" wouldn't it? lol SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. The slight variations

I think perhaps you push yourself too much, Sharon. I want you to be careful out there. So, you didn't respond--what are you going to plant in the garden this year? I think Lloyd has put peas in to our huge buckets we usually grow in. Sometimes we do tomatoes and basil as well. I just adore basil, and making pesto! Yum!love to you my friend,KateFrom: Sharon

As always Kate you are too kind. I have to fight with myself some days to go out to the chickens and ducks. During the winter I don't go out unless the ground is not frozen or covered with ice/snow. Like I said I have to really push myself every day when the weather gets warmer to build up my stamina so I can go out to the poultry. Feeding the wild birds is fun, isn't it? We get chicadees, bluebirds, blue jays, grosbeaks, and a bunch of what I call "tweety birds" because I don't know the name. lollove to you SharonThis email is a

Gee whiz, Sharon~you sure are busy! I give you a LOT of credit homeschooling. Lord knows that I'd never be able to do that. First off, I'm not that smart, secondly, as much as I have patience, I don't think I'd have THAT much patience!I wish I were a reader, but as soon as I start reading, my eyes start to close! It tires me to no end to read.I envy you for your energy to feed the chicks and ducks. I too love feeding birds at the feeder. We get titmouse, chickadees and cardinals. and of course the squirrels~The morning doves come along also and eat what falls on the ground. What will you be planting this year in the garden?love to you my friend,KateTo: MSersLife Sent: Tue, March 22, 2011 12:06:34 PMSubject: Re: keeping busy? what do you do? I take care of four of my grandkids while their parents are at work so that consumes a lot of my time. They are little ones so it's not that difficult--they are 8, 13, 15 and 16. They are homeschooled and I do most of their education. If their dad (my son) is not home then I make the meals for the most part. I'm not on the computer a ton because we have alternative power (solar and wind). I like to read. Right now I am reading 's "The Lake House" a sequel to "When The Wind Blows", about genetic experiments. When the weather is nice I go out and feed and water the chickens and ducks. If I'm up to it I go out to the vegetable garden and weed and harvest when the garden is in season.I feed wild birds and

love to watch them at my many feeders. I have learned how to make homemade feeders out of empty plastic orange juice/milk gallon jugs and the birds love them. I am crazy for genealogy and love to research my ancestors. I have made contact with 6 cousins (distant) and we all stay in touch with each other now. I often think how surprised my parents would be over the cousins I have found. lolThat's me in a nutshell.... SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. I'm wondering what everyone here does to keep busy. I guess I'm mainly talking about those of us who no longer work but it could apply to everyone as well.Do you fill your day with TV, computer, reading, gardening, games or??? Just finally following up on this email, Sharon...Wow, 'them's' a lot of veggies! You must have a huge plot allotted for this garden. What size space do you use? Make certain the kids are willing to help you weed this year. That's a very labor intensive task to do by yourself!Love you,KateTo:
