Guest guest
Nick I am new here...I was thinking of asking my endo to let me try just T3 ..but should i get compounding SR T3 like 50mcg if I was taking 75mcg of T4 and T3. I have addison disease too so i have to take steriods...sometimes i get what is call thyroid dumnps causing had sweats...then i get confused and cut my thyroid back. I was told I needed to raise steriods. However, most endo do not believe in this..Rt3 thing..so i am lose at what to do. I have been suffering with severe aches and pain all over from my wrists, knees,,ankles low back, buttock pain for past 5 fives. I have had hashimoto thyroiditis for 8 years. I checked for fibro do not have this or anyother arthritis..no RA factor. So I am beginning to think my receptors are resistant or something is wrong. For past 5 or 7 years my Tsh has always been at low end...my T4 at lower end and T3 just around 2.8 or 2.9. I was told that both T4 and T3 should be in the middle..like T4 should be 1.14 and T3 should be 3.20. My endo said only people who do not have a thyroid should take T3 only....do you have thyroid gland still> Maybe I should push her into letting me try just T3. I think she may let me try it...any information would be greatly appreciated. thanks Lindees > > >From what I've read, it seems that it takes about 3 months of T3 only medication before all the T4 clears and the receptors clear. Have a read all through here www.thyroid-rt3.com and come back and ask questions if it leaves gaps. Generally people do best with a FT3 at the top of the range or a little over. Guest guest
That doesn't make sense that only people without a thyroid should take t3 only. I mean, if you take t4 AND t3, you usually still end up where almost all (if not all) the t4 is coming from your meds, not from your thyroid, so what's the difference? Endos can be so stupid. > > > > >From what I've read, it seems that it takes about 3 months of T3 only medication before all the T4 clears and the receptors clear.
