Guest guest
Hi,I was so NOT looking forward to my neuro visit yesterday. Last March, he busted my chops about my weight; I haven't really lost much since then, so I was ready for him to bring it up again...he didn't, thank goodness.I told him about falling 6 times in the last few months, and he wrote a script for me for Gait and Balance PT. He was going to give my Amprya, but I declined; I don't think my balance and walking is THAT bad to need a med for it, so I'm going to try the PT first. I also mentioned my memory issues--that everyone is getting really mad at me with my forgetfulness and not recalling much of anything! He gave me an all-natural sample of CerefolinNAC--I'm going to do research on it before I start taking it. It has something to do with folate. He offered Aricept, but I don't think I need that. I asked him if there were 'markers' for Alzheimers in bloodwork. He said that that is used diagnostically, not as a predictor. So, basically, he refused to check my blood for that. Since I had an MRI and bloodwork last year, he's waiting to do either til next March. All in all a pretty good visit.Just wanted to update (and not bore!) ya'all.Love to all of you,Kate
Guest guest
Kate glad your check up went pretty good. As far as people getting mad at you thats horrible! My memory is absolutely terrible. I would be really upset if people got mad at me because of it. its not something we have asked for thats for sure. Shame on them. Guest guest
Thanks for the booster, nne! We memory-challenged folks need to stick together! I try to explain it's from the MS, but they still get mad at me. I like your saying--it's so true!Love to you and Chuck; please say hi to him for me!KateTo: mserslife Sent: Wed, March 30, 2011 9:18:29 AMSubject: RE: neuro visit Kate glad your check up went pretty good. Guest guest
Kate: Glad you had a fairly good visit with the neuro. Regarding Ampyra, if insurance will cover it, why not try it and see if it helps? Hope the PT goes well.Dan U dao_nguu@... Guest guest
Thanks, Dan. I thought Ampyra was more for gait, and less for balance. Like if you have foot drop, Ampyra will help...? Looking forward to the PT helping some. Waiting a call back from them. It's a PT center in a health club, and I think they're rather busy, hopefully they'll get back to me today.hugs,KateTo: mserslife Sent: Wed, March 30, 2011 11:25:22 AMSubject: RE: neuro visit Kate: Glad you had a fairly good visit with the neuro. Guest guest
If you have foot drop and spasticity, in theory the Ampyra helps make it easier to move your legs. It doesn't help everybody. I tried the Ampyra for three months and had no improvement. So, I went back to Fampridine. Ampyra is a time-release version of Fampridine.Dan U dao_nguu@... Guest guest
You never bore me, Kate! It sounds like a very good neuro visit. Let me know how the PT works out for you. I have thought I needed something like that too.hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
