I am reading, mostly, even though I've been away for some days. And even posting every now and then...We've been in Stockholm, visiting with my siblings and with Pixie (niece) and Stella (very new niece). The main purpose with the visit was to meet with Stella (4 weeks now) for the first time, but we stayed with my older sister and her daughter, Pixie. And we were supposed to meet with my younger sister and her husband and kids as well, but they (the kids) were not well. Alfons (1,5 years) just had ear tube surgery, because of his multiple inner ear infections, and the girl, Linnea, had stomach problems and ended up in hospital during the weekend. They'll both be fine, so not to worry, but it did make socializing a little impossible for their little family during the days we were there. In fact, my brother and his wife were ill too, for the first couple of days of our visit, with the stomach flu. We did some shopping for them, and took Stella along for a walk to allow them some undisturbed sleep, but we didn't get together until they were well (did not want to risk having to travel with a stomach flu...).Despite all the illnesses, it was a nice stay. A mini-vacation of sorts. And we did get to spend a lot of time with Pixie, and with her mother. We took them to dinner at our favorite Indian restaurant (that happens to be just across the road from them), and we took Pixie to the park so her mother could go and catch a daytime movie at the theatre (not too often a single mother gets to do that, especially not a single mother who is in nursing school full time AND working, along with being a mother, so she could use the break).Got a lot of Pixie-isms with us. Like when we were visiting with Stella and she commented on how small she was. We said that "You used to be this tiny too", and she nodded in agreement, then we said, and once upon a time, your mother was this small, to that she just laughed and said:"Nope. I KNOW you are kidding me around now!" When we insisted she thought for a while, and then said: "I know when that was. It was when she was living with Ulrica." (when her mother first moved to Stockholm, she shared an apartment with her friend from school, Ulrica). Pixie reasoned that IF (and that was a big if...) her mum had ever been that tiny, then for sure she could not have lived on her own. And she combined that with the knowledge that she had once shared an apartment with a friend. Kind of clever for a 3-year old, in my book, even if the conclusions were all wrong. She wanted to show us her day care center, plus she wanted to go there because they were throwing a party for the kids with fancy clothes, pizza, chocolate brownies, dancing, face painting and balloons (she especially loves face painting) so we walked her there. When we had arrived, and was about to leave her there for a few hours, I asked: "Before we go, what was it you wanted to show us?" She answered: "Just look everywhere"... Well, duh, of course...When we were putting her to sleep once she asked me: "Do you like me?" And when I said yes, she asked: "Does like me?" And when I said, that, yes, likes you too. She asked: "Does mum like me?" And when I answered yes to that too, she said:"All the adults like me! And all the day care teachers! And I think all of the kids like me too. Even I like me"....The last part is the most important, isn't it? ;-)Well, that was the update for now, I think.love/Reb – reading...>> I am wondering who is reading the group? We have our core members who post often but we don't hear from most of the other members on this large group. > > I am going to do some "housecleaning" on the group. If you are reading the group but are just not posting--please let me know so I can keep you on as a member. > > I reset some of the bouncing members last week and some others this morning. Hopefully some of those previously bouncing members will respond and let us all know how they are doing and what's going on in their lives!> > I'm glad for each of you and I hope to see posts from members who have been silent for awhile!> > hugs to each of you> Sharon, group owner>
